Protect your business from fraud

Businesses and organisations are increasingly becoming targets of fraud and cybercrime. Fraudsters can send convincing letters or emails pretending to be a colleague (including CEO) or supplier and attempt to trick you into making a payment to a fraudulent account.

Remember to Stop, Think, Check

  • Bank of Ireland will never send you a text message or email containing a link to a log in page or site asking you to share your banking or other personal details.
  • Never share secure codes. If someone asks you for a one-time code from your Approve app, they are a fraudster.
  • Never give control of your computer remotely to someone who calls unexpectedly, no matter how genuine they seem.
  • Always talk to your boss in person before making any urgent payments.
  • Never make a payment to a new account number without contacting the company first to check that the request is real.
