  • What is a 2FA app?

A two-factor authentication (2FA) app, is a security application that provides additional login verification. After entering your mobile number (the first “factor”), the 2FA app generates a one-time code (the second “factor”) to confirm your identity. This extra layer of security helps protect your account from unauthorised access. Examples of 2FA apps include Salesforce, Microsoft and Google Authenticator.

  • Why do I need a 2FA app?
A two-factor authentication (2FA) app will provide you an additional layer of security and prevents unauthorised access to your digital accounts protecting them, even if your password is compromised. The 2FA app enhances your security by confirming your identity every time you log in.
  • Can I use my existing 2FA app?
Yes. If you already have a two-factor authentication (2FA) app on your smart device like Salesforce, Microsoft or Google Authenticator, you can use it. Please note that when using Microsoft or Google Authenticator, you will need be asked to scan a QR code. To make this process easier, we would recommend having a laptop or tablet and your mobile device ready when calling to register for the first time.

To download a two-factor authentication (2FA) app on your smart device:

    1. Open the App Store or Google Store on your device
    2. Tap on the Search icon at the bottom of the screen
    3. In the search bar, type the name of the 2FA app you want to download. For example, ‘Salesforce Authenticator’
    4. Once you’ve entered the app’s name, tap Search on your keyboard
    5. Look for the app in the search results and tap on it
    6. You will now be on the app’s information and download page. Tap the Get button to download the app
